Nike Logo – Design And History!
There are not much people in the world who cant recognize a swoosh symbol know as Nike logo. When people like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Andre Agassi, Shane Warne, Maria Sharapova, Venus and Serena Williams and other great super stars wear that logo on there shirts, its hard to ignore that little symbol. The company, take its name from the Greek goddess of victory, Nike.
The original Nike Swoosh is designed by the Carolyn Davidson in 1971 who was a student of Portland State University at that time.
At that time the Nike company was running under the name of Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS). But the owner, Phil Knight, needs a new brand for a new line of athletic footwear; his company was preparing to introduce in 1972. Phil Knight approaches Carolyn Davidson for the concept and design ideas and she agreed to work for his company, charging a rate of $2 per hour.
It was June 1971, when Carolyn presented that swoosh logo with other concepts to Knight and other BRS executives. And at that moment they ultimately selected the mark which is known globally as the Swoosh. Wonder how much Carolyn charged for hat logo? Yes! a big whopping amount of 35 US dollars.

Simple, Fluid and Fast. These are the words used to describe the “Swoosh” in the Nike logo that has become one of the most recognized symbols in the world.
